      • Date: December 8th
      • Where: Merriam Park Library 1831 Marshall Ave, St Paul, MN 55104
      • Time: 10:30am-1:00pm (Please let us now how long you can attend – only morning, only afternoon and if you plan on leaving in the middle of either of those sessions)
      • Morning session, 10:30am start: Personal Empowerment led by Ally People Solutions
      • Lunch, 11:30 start: FREE and DELICIOUS – Learn about available Micro Grants available that can help you achieve sustainable positive change. Areas of focus are employment, housing, and community life.  
      • Afternoon session, 12:00pm start: Micro Grant Writting and/or Exploring Your Learning Style
      • Cost: No Charge. Donations welcome.

Training Series

Do you have a self-advocacy group you would like to start or strengthen? Sign up to pilot ACT’s Disability Equality Training Series (DETS).

  • All courses are self-led; ACT trains your trainers.
  • Each session is 1 hr long and easy to present: support materials are easy to use, clearly organized, and include strategies for engaging participants in activities that enhance the learning experience.
  • All sessions use group learning with participatory learning model.
  • Comprehensive curriculum includes courses from basic to advanced levels.
  • Completion certificates recognize achievement.
  • Rigor reflected in program structure, where smaller groups learn over longer periods of time, creating lasting leadership skills.

We are currently piloting the first series of lessons with select groups. Soon we will have another round of pilots, free of cost, if your group is interested:

ACT’s Holiday Party

Who: Anyone can come! ACT’s holiday party is chance to bring people together and see familiar faces from the chorus, ACT’s board, the Olmstead Academy, Disability Pride Day as well as chance to meet new people. Bring your roommates, friends and family. 

What: ACT’s Holiday Party! Come for games, delicious home made food, and to see all the great people connected to ACT!

When: Tuesday December 19th, 4:00pm-7:00pm

  • Date: First Friday of each month, following the Friday Sept 8th start (Oct 6, Nov 3, Dec 1)
  • Where: Macalester Plymouth Church (1658 Lincoln Avenue, St Paul, MN 55105)
  • Time: Free Dinner 6:00pm-6:30pm , 6:45pm-8:15pm singing
  • Performance: tbd
  • Required Commitment: Be at all rehearsals.
  • Cost: No Charge. Donations welcome.

Attend ACT Board Meetings

  • For Self-Advocates who are already on ACT’s board, already ACT members, or are just interested in learning more about ACT and getting know the board
  • Meetings include official ACT business which is voted on by the board, as well as self-advocacy games and lessons
  • Meetings take place the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the ACT office

Attend Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) Meetings

Are you interested in learning more about whats happening at the big picture level around disability rights? Join an ACT staff member and represent the interests of self-advocates.
