    Details: Disability Power Day – Summer Series Agenda 
      • Dates: 2nd Friday of the month, 6/8, 7/13, 8/10
      • Where: St. George Greek Othrodox Church, 1111 Summit Ave Saint Paul, MN 55105
      • Time: 10am-2pm. Please let us now how long you can attend – we only want people leaving during lunch time in-between morning and afternoon sessions (11:30-12:30)
      • Morning session 10am-11:30am 
      • Lunch, 11:30am-12:30pm: FREE and DELICIOUS 
      • Afternoon session 12:30pm-2pm 
      • Cost: No Charge. Donations welcome.

Disability Equality Training Series

Do you have a self-advocacy group you would like to start or strengthen? Sign up to pilot ACT’s Disability Equality Training Series (DETS).

  • All courses are self-led; ACT trains your trainers.
  • Each session is 1 hr long and easy to present: support materials are easy to use, clearly organized, and include strategies for engaging participants in activities that enhance the learning experience.
  • All sessions use group learning with participatory learning model.
  • Comprehensive curriculum includes courses from basic to advanced levels.
  • Completion certificates recognize achievement.
  • Rigor reflected in program structure, where smaller groups learn over longer periods of time, creating lasting leadership skills.

We are currently piloting the first series of lessons with select groups. Soon we will have another round of pilots, free of cost, if your group is interested:

Attend ACT Board Meetings

  • For Self-Advocates who are already on ACT’s board, already ACT members, or are just interested in learning more about ACT and getting know the board
  • Meetings include official ACT business which is voted on by the board, as well as self-advocacy games and lessons
  • Meetings take place the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the ACT office

Attend Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) Meetings

Are you interested in learning more about whats happening at the big picture level around disability rights? Join an ACT staff member and represent the interests of self-advocates.

  • Attend a public CCD event
  • Attend transportation workgroup meetings
  • Attend employment workgroup meetings
  • Attend policy or grassroots committee meetings
